The following is an explanation of each license type:

Simple License: This license is generally available with the Office, Project, or Visio suites. It allows you to activate your software for life, but only if you do not uninstall, repair, reinstall, or format Windows. If any of these four situations occur, the license will be lost and you will have to purchase a new one, which justifies its inexpensive price.

Reusable License: This license is generally available with the Office, Project, or Visio suites. It allows you to activate your software for life with a 100% guarantee that the license will never be lost if the software is ever uninstalled, repaired, or reinstalled, or even if Windows is formatted. This license is linked to your Microsoft account, which will be your activation tool in the future.

OEM License: This license is generally included with Windows licenses. The license will activate one workstation and can be reused to activate the same workstation after formatting Windows.

Multi-User License (2 PCs to 20 PCs): These licenses are generally « Simple » as explained above; think of them as refill codes. If you purchase a 5-User license, for example, it will allow you to activate 5 workstations at a time. Once all 5 activations are used up, the license will no longer work in the future, even on the same workstations.
